Anxiety & Couples Counselling London
Feel Better in Your Body. Feel Closer in Your Relationship.
Counselling for Anxiety, Stress, and Relationships in London.
You don't have to keep pushing through on your own.
Anxiety builds quietly. Stress becomes normal. And in relationships, the distance grows before either of you fully notices. Whether you’re here for yourself or here for your relationship — this is a space to slow down, regulate, and reconnect.
I’m Emily Halton, a counsellor based in Tooting, South West London. I offer individual and couples counselling in person and online — with an approach that works with your body, not just your mind.
If any of this sounds familiar, you're in the right place.
You're functioning — but running on empty.
The anxiety is always there, humming in the background. You manage it, push through it, stay busy. But it never really lifts. And the exhaustion is starting to show.
You and your partner keep having the same argument.
You love each other. But somewhere along the way, the connection frayed. Conversations turn into conflict. Silence feels easier than trying again.
You know something needs to change — you just don't know where to start.
You've tried managing it on your own. Maybe you've read the books, downloaded the apps, told yourself to just relax. It hasn't worked. That's not a failure. It just means you need a different kind of support.
This space is for adults who are ready to stop white-knuckling it.
You might be dealing with anxiety that’s affecting your sleep, your work, or your relationships. Stress and burnout that’s left you feeling flat and disconnected. Or a relationship where communication has broken down and you’re not sure how to find your way back to each other.
You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out. You just need to be willing to show up. Individual counselling and couples counselling are both available — in person in Tooting, South West London, or online across the UK.
Hello, I'm Emily
Counsellor, MBACP
I know what it feels like when anxiety won’t leave you alone.
Before I became a counsellor, I found my own way through anxiety — not by pushing it down, but by learning to understand what my body was telling me. That journey led me to yoga teacher training, to studying polyvagal theory, and eventually to counselling. Seven years later, that combination is at the heart of how I work.
I’m Emily Halton, a BACP-registered counsellor based in Tooting, South West London. I work with adults struggling with anxiety, stress, and burnout, and with couples who want to reconnect and communicate better. My sessions are in person and online — and whatever brings you here, you’ll be met without judgement.
What I offer isn’t just a space to talk. It’s a place to understand your patterns, regulate your nervous system, and build something that actually lasts.
A Different Kind of Counselling.
Most therapy works with your thoughts. This works with your whole nervous system.
Anxiety and stress aren’t just mental — they live in your body. Racing heart, shallow breathing, the tension you carry in your shoulders without realising it. Talk therapy alone doesn’t always reach that.
My approach draws on mindfulness, self-regulation, and polyvagal theory — developed with Deb Dana — to help you understand how your nervous system responds to stress and how to gently shift it. For couples, I draw on the work of the Gottman Institute, Esther Perel, and Terry Real to help you both learn the art of conscious communication — so you can really listen and truly be heard.
This is relational work. It helps you move out of old, protective patterns and show up as the person you actually want to be — in your relationship, and in your life. You won’t just talk about what’s wrong. You’ll build real tools to feel different.
